As a Frontend Software Engineer

  • You have a proven track record in developing digital experiences for complex and business critical challenges for clients.
  • You have a bachelor’s or master’s degree, e.g. CompSci, Software Eng, or you are self-taught and operate on that level.
  • You have a very strong affinity with (visual and interaction) design, usability and accessibility and (web) performance.
  • You understand that your role balances between design and backend development.
  • You are committed to quality. Just because you’re doing frontend stuff doesn’t mean it doesn’t require QA and testing.
  • You feel at ease with our tech stack:
    • we build applications using JavaScript, TypeScript on the frontend, and Node.js and/or Python on the back-end and prefer serverless architectures;
    • our frontend apps are mostly built using React and Next.js (but there’s love for Svelte and Vue.js too);
    • we strongly prefer to use GraphQL for our APIs;
    • we only run workloads in the cloud, mainly on AWS and Azure, but we’re no strangers to Vercel;
    • our tech stack is ever evolving, so we are open to new tools, languages and technologies that will do a better job.
  • You understand how data, design and technology complement each other.
  • You are capable of autonomously managing the frontend toolchain and strive to automate all “busywork”.
  • You agree that DevOps is not a role, but a team effort to continuously deliver stable, high quality, secure software at high velocity: we build it, we run it.
  • Above all, you acknowledge that technology is constantly pushing forward and you want to continuously learn and do better.
