Ask
The goal of the platform is to facilitate fire safety professionals in their day to day workflow. To drive growth and optimise product usage, Hertek Safety needed a more advanced approach to data management and insight generation. That is why they asked us to help them gain a deeper understanding of how their clients use Hertek Connect, allowing them to improve the platform in a lean, swift, and efficient way.
Answer
Hertek Safety sought our expertise to deliver a lean data platform, design and extract data, and transform it from raw sensor data into meaningful business insights.
Instead of immediately investing in a large-scale data infrastructure to collect, clean, and analyse data, we focused on a lean, result oriented approach where we:
- used Microsoft Fabric to enable seamless data integration.
- applied a hypothesis-driven approach to identify growth opportunities and optimise product usage.
- equip the business team with actionable insights to enhance customer experience and drive adoption of Hertek Connect.

Way of working
We applied our Optimise & Grow framework, ensuring that data insights directly contributed to product improvement and business growth.
Our process consisted of:
- Understanding how Hertek Connect is used, identifying key metrics, and defining business hypotheses.
- Combining data from multiple sources in Microsoft Fabric, moving from bronze (raw data) to silver (validated data) to gold (enriched data).
- Setting up data pipelines, validate hypotheses with queries, and refine insights to support decision making.
The project was executed in close collaboration with a multidisciplinary growth team, bringing together Hertek’s business team, fresk.digitals data service designer and data engineer and Experience Data’s data scientist.

We helped Hertek Safety develop a lean data process designed to facilitate business decision making. Our approach centred on:
- Data structuring & cleansing:
Moving from "dirty" raw data to structured, clean data that provides the foundation for valuable insights. - Microsoft fabric integration:
Implementing Microsoft Fabric to efficiently process and analyse data from Hertek Connect sensors. - Hypothesis driven insights:
Collaborating with Hertek’s business team to define key business questions and validate hypotheses through data analysis. - Agile reporting & growth facilitation:
Delivering weekly reports with continuously enriched datasets, enabling the growth team to take data-backed actions to enhance product usage.
Result
For Hertek Safety we successfully set up a structured insight driven approach. We were able to help them deliver valuable insights without requiring a significant IT investment. This agile, high impact approach ensured fast results while maintaining flexibility.

The key outcomes include:
- A scalable data approach that continuously provides valuable insights without requiring major IT infrastructure investments.
- Hypothesis-driven reporting, enabling the growth team to make informed decisions based on real user behavior.
- A clear strategy for optimising product usage and customer satisfaction, reinforcing Hertek Connect’s value proposition.
By leveraging a smart mix of business, human centred data, design and tech expertise, we helped fuel Hertek Safety to enhance product adoption, to improve user satisfaction, and drive business growth, all powered by data.
